Dad and Nick howling at the tv screen
So I haven't updated in... about forever. Since I left off, a lot has changed haha. Nick and I got the apartment in Jersey Shore, stayed from middle of May to August 1st. Then we moved in to a 3 bedroom half a double that is HUGE. We have a back fenced in yard, a garage (that still needs cleaned out), Brandon Park as our front yard, a front and back porch, an attic, upstairs, downstairs, and basement AND our landlord included a brand new washer and dryer to seal the deal. PLUS we are only paying $400 a month for rent. Our last apartment that was a one bedroom, 2nd floor apt was $370. So I think we're making out pretty well. AND our landlord is Bill Nichols, who runs City Bus and has connections to every penn state game, which he told us we could go to the next home game!!! I love it. Nick and I are doing extremely well. We have those little fights here and there but for the most part we are great. We have great neighbors, who are all gay lol but that's fine. Romeo loves it because it's so quiet, but still flips out on the occasional pedestrian. So yeah, great place, I never want to leave.
In other news, we met a couple at a wedding about a month and a half ago and it turns out they live right up the road from us. They are so great, we hang out about once or twice a week with them. The only downfall is that they are friends with the one person I cannot tolerate lol, we'll leave her name out though.
As far as the job is concerned, love working with the kiddos, hate working with the adults/office people. I also hate the inconsistent hours, and the long drive up to Lock Haven every day. So in other words, I've been looking for a new job. I want one that is closer to Williamsport, if not in Williamsport. I just can't do it that much longer, especially when the winter months come around. A. we want to save money, so gas prices don't help any and B. the snowy roads will make for a lot of call offs that I don't want to deal with. So I've been searching as much as I can, since we don't have the internet/cable/newspaper. We basically listen to the radio, watch movies, play gamecube, and play cards. It's actually kinda nice because it makes us spend more time together conversing. I know if I had the internet I would just be planted in my computer chair on here all the time. So yeah, it is possible to survive without tv or internet in the year 2008! Who woulda thought haha..
On another note, lastnight was our neighbors birthday and Danny came home. Nick and I met up with Danny at the Old Corner, and ran into our neighbors. At the same time, we ran into Jamal, who was one of my good friends in high school. We ended up all going to Club Z and dancing the whole night. Afterwards, Danny went home, and we went hot tubbing with our neighbors and Jamal showed up too! So we stayed up pretty much all night, went to bed finally when I am pretty sure it was starting to get light outside, and then woke up around 11:30. We told my dad we'd be out early to help him de-vine the grapes for his wine but that didn't happen. By the time we got here, he was on his last box of grapes. I felt really bad. Right now Nick and my dad are downstairs watching the football games on tv and eating a roast he cooked on the grill. Record high temps today of 91. I guess the last time it was 90 degrees was in 1952! So thats fun.
On a sad note, our friend Nick Baker died last week. On Monday. He was in a car crash that took his life. He was known to be a fearless driver and it finally caught up with him. :( We missed his funeral because as I mentioned earlier we don't get any outside news, and no one let us know when it was. It was Thursday during the day. I still want to visit his grave soon and maybe put flowers on it or something. I'm still creeped out about everything. You really never know when its your time to go. It's so scary...
Anyway, I guess that pretty much covers everything thats been going on in my life recently. Maybe I'll update a little more if we ever get the internet.
